About the Role:

As a Sonographer, you will provide high quality diagnostic ultrasound services, performing a range of examinations to support the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients across a variety of clinical specialties. You will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver accurate, patient-centred care while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Setting up and maintaining ultrasound equipment
  • Performing ultrasound examinations on patients
  • Producing images resulting from the ultrasound examinations
  • Interpreting ultrasound images to aid patient diagnosis
  • Carrying out training on ultrasound equipment for other healthcare professionals
  • Addressing patients’ concerns before, during and after ultrasound examinations
  • Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced
  • Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities, when necessary
  • Soothing and reassuring nervous or anxious patients

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • 6 months experience working as a Sonographer within a clinical or hospital environment.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the principles of medicine and healthcare
  • Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy
  • Working knowledge of transducers and other ultrasound equipment
  • Excellent bedside manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent physical stamina and the ability to stand for long hours
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
